Ian McConville of ThreePanelSoul.com has finally put out an artbook. I've been following his work since 2005 when Mac Hall was still being updated. His use of vector stylings and digital painting done with Photoshop blows me away, and reaffirms my love of shape, expression, gesture, stylized realism, and the juxtaposition of cute with deadly. Almost kawaii-noir? You be the judge.

Speaking of kawaii-noir, I wouldn't mind sitting in on that lecture again at the next SGMS con at MCAD. I hope Crispin Freeman gives another lecture. I really enjoyed how well-executed his last one was, and it was very uplifting - almost a motivational speech near the end, even while dealing with the intrigue of the Utena movie.

I really need to be more active. I'm going on too many aimless walks these days.
